Massive Problem for the Masses

inspiration Jan 22, 2019

There is a massive problem going on in our society.

A big part of the problem is most can't even see it happening.

You ready for the problem?

We spend our whole entire lives looking for acceptance in all the wrong places.

See, we look for acceptance from almost every direction, except one. This neglected angle is a massive angle. It's extremely important.

It's the INTERNAL COMPASS that the masses miss out on.

You can have 1 million likes on social media , but if YOU dislike/don't know who YOU are personally, that 1 dislike overrides any pride that the 1 million might have brought you.

It's why famous actors turn to addiction. They make everybody happy on screen and have all of the "worldly" success, but internally, they don't know who they are.

Now, I don't have life all figured out. I'm not at the level I want to be at. I still have a long way to go. I value followers just as much as anybody and I appreciate likes and comments on my posts just like you do. At the end of the day, it's probably why we post the stuff in the first place, right?

But, if you base your life around the acceptance of everybody else and don't value who you are personally, you could wind up in a world of trouble.

Value yourself.

God created YOU.

He made YOU unique and gifted in your own ways.

He knows YOU.

He values YOU.

There is a place for caring about what others think, particularly when it comes to wisdom and guidance in important areas of life as we march through the years. It's good to be coachable. That's a fantastic quality to have.

But, when your joy level is equivalent to the likes on your social media post, you could be sliding down a slippery slope.

Because then you are tempted to trade in who YOU are and who He has created YOU to be for someone that others will accept and like.

There's something inspiring about the guy or girl that is morally sound and walks with integrity, but has an attitude of "long hair don't care." [Currently in the growing out stage myself! : )] Isn't there? Not that they have an arrogance or anything, but they are confident in who they are and if you don't like that, they aren't gonna lose a second of sleep over it. They are going to do them.

It's like: I know who I am and who I am called to be and how I am called to live and that's the way I'm gonna roll, with or without y'all.

My point is: I see a lot of people, especially young people, choosing the path of least resistance in life simply because they want to be accepted by everybody around them and in so doing, they lose sight of who they really are.

Create your own dreams.

Make your own choices.

Own your life and stop letting the masses around you dictate your every move.

My solution to the problem for what it's worth:

*Know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.

*Try to live in light of what He has done as you grow in your relationship with Him.

*Love other people, even if that means tough love at times.

*Discover your purpose and your passion even if it takes you a little while longer than the average person, because remember we aren't trying to be average.

*Walk it out consistently. Dream big and then make choices that line up with your goals and dreams.

*Post about your life if you want, but don't let the attention (or lack thereof) get to your head.

*Get to the end of your days with the fewest regrets possible having lived to Know Him, Make Him known, Love people, and Walk out your purpose.

*Meet your maker.
